The candy box was originally known as a **“zǎn hé”** (accumulating box), carrying the meaning of gathering and union. As **“zǎn”** sounds similar to **“quán”** (complete), it gradually became known as the “candy box” we use today.
Did you know? The Blossom & Prosperity Candy Box is also a work of art full of delicate details.
The Blossom & Prosperity Candy Box is also a work of art full of delicate details. Pressed flower art uses carefully preserved pressed flowers as the core material, followed by the delicate processes of arranging, adhering dried flowers, and sealing them into the box.
Why do traditional candy boxes have an odd number of compartments?
In ancient Chinese philosophy of Yin-Yang and Five Elements, odd numbers represent Yang (positive, bright, auspicious), while even numbers represent Yin. The more compartments a candy box has, the more it symbolizes wealth and high status of the family.
Today, fewer people fill their candy boxes with traditional preserved fruits. Instead, they use colourful international snacks. You can fill it with any treats you like, but it is still best to focus on candies, symbolizing joy and good luck for the new year.

Although each workshop presents something new, it emphasizes healing our psychical self: creating art that perfectly matches our dreams rather than what others see as achievement.
